My FIFA World Cup 2010 Shoot.

My FIFA World Cup 2010 Shoot.

My FIFA World Cup 2010 Shoot.

The Tan siblings (minus one) on somewhat soccer ball pattern tiles
(T-R-L): Jeremiah, Janie and Mikko

To tell you honestly, I haven’t watched a single World Cup game since its started…

But the essence and camaraderie of how nations worldwide gather every 4 years to compete against each other in this game really astounds me somehow. What can I say? It’s awesome to have such a thing in this world!!

Sure the NBA is hyped too and I still don’t watch that. But the FIFA World Cup is WORLDWIDE! (Too bad the Philippines didn’t have a slot this year. Maybe in the next?)

So don’t expect this to be a world cup entry ok. I’m gonna talk about this shoot. 🙂 Would you be surprised to know that this was my own idea? LOL. The things I come up with when I’m somehow inspired.

This was supposedly only between Mikko and I but word got out to her siblings and they wanted to join in. And whoah, I’m really happy they did! I had a lot of fun and they made me so happy with how excited they were, full-on facepaint, colored leggings and all!!

Mikko as Team Brazil.
I was for Brazil too but too bad they lost! So many awesome people there–Kaka, MysteryGuitarMan and Paulo Coelho to name a few.
And I was able to shoot Royce Gracie too so I’m now biased!

Janie as Team Spain.
The back of her shirt is Torres’ name and number. Spain’s the only team left from the three as we speak. Survivor!

Jeremiah as Team Argentina.
And I heard sad news about Argentina last night. Don’t cry for me, Argentina~

Fun Fact #1: The patches and Nike logo were just printed on bondpaper the night before the shoot. (Haha, did anyone notice that? Be proud of yourself for being too observant if you did!) Jeremiah’s doesn’t look printed on bondpaper though because it was already an image of a patch to begin with. It is only evident on Janie’s shot.

I’m sure the words aren’t clear when I resized this so click to zoom if you wish.
I forgot to put the caption for the green bounce card! Hahaha But yeah I’ve been talking about that a lot so you finally see how it looks like.
Photos by Janie.

Fun Fact #2: Their background wasn’t edited at all. When I thought of the concept I immediately wanted to use the colored walls around their house! Also, their floor tiles coincidentally matched the pattern of soccer balls.

Fun Fact #3: Mikko and Janie’s facepaint is actually acrylic paint, while Jeremiah’s is from a facial mask!

Fun Fact #4: I didn’t post-process much really. I bought some colored cellophane from National Bookstore, cut small rectangles and used a baller to fasten them on my flash for a colored flash effect! I got the idea from those colored diffusers. But since I didn’t want to buy some, I thought I could make my own. If you’ve been following my shoots, you would have noticed we always try to be as resourceful as we can be. You guys can try it out too! 🙂

By the way, you don’t see the cellophane trick on the behind-the-scenes shot because I didn’t use one on Jeremiah’s. Apparently National Bookstore doesn’t have/ran out of blue cellophane. Anyway you can see the difference in skin tone, right? With the cellophane his skin would have given off a blueish tint.

So that’s about it for this simple mini shoot. I close this entry with a cute shot of the siblings.

I really love that photo of theirs. Kodak moment much!
I don’t know how much the time difference is but look how much they’ve grown up. Aweeee
