Satin Eclipse 2009

This is a very outdated entry on last year’s Satin Eclipse. It’s been in my drafts for the longest time but today I decided to stop procrastinating and finally publish it now.

The Cebu Digital Photographer’s (CDP) exhibit started with all our works up at Parkmall last October 24-31. If you ever got to go there until the October 31st, you’d see mine and my fellow club members’ works featuring a dark theme of cosplays.

It was my first time shooting in a studio and it was pure awesome! It was so fun being able to manipulate the lighting and everything. A lot of people helped me achieve what I had in mind and I’m really so grateful to them. The models, make-up artists, stylist, organizers and all the photographers were all really good! I feel blessed to have been given the opportunity.

Each photographer was assigned to a single cosplay character and with that, a fitted model. Here are my outtakes from other members’ shoots.

I asked advice about the translation on my artwork to make sure it was correct since Chinese grammar isn’t my strong point at all. Calligraphy on the other hand, I love.

Cheska was an amazing model. She really studied the Chun-Li poses and facial expressions so it was a breeze working with her! It’s always awesome working with people like this–dedicated and passionate about the work given to them.

And this was all thanks to Cane Events! All young people with fresh ideas and the intitiative to bring new fun events to Cebu. Great costumes from Acre Ballroom and make-up by the students of Jessie Glova from his school of make-up too. Shot at ShutterGlitz Studio in Emall.
