Zee Lifestyle: The Callithump

It was my first time working for Zee, and it was a learning experience once again. I’m really thankful I had the opportunity to work with David Cua. He’s the nicest and most professional young editor/manager/boss I’ve ever worked with!!

I shot the fashion editorial, The Callithump. It’s a unique concept merging cosplayer fashion and designer pieces. At first I was honestly nervous about the concept… I respect cosplay and admire the designer fashion world, but they were totally worlds apart! To bring them together seemed like something that would either be a huge hit or a major bashing issue waiting to happen.

Thankfully, the team was super so I think we were able to pull it off! What do you think? 🙂 Oh and by the way, the two people (cosplayer and model wearing designer clothing) are both the same person! I had to do the doppelganger effect for this shoot.

It was nice seeing familiar faces again. I’ve shot Miles, Jessica and Edd already for my photostories before and they’re really easy to work with. Such sweet and nice kids. These cosplayers really have a special place in my heart since I’ve seen them “grow up” (we don’t have a huge age gap but I dunno why I feel this way. Haha!).
