This is my second time working with Erica. The first was for my geisha concept.

And yes, that is Erica’s real life boyfriend. 🙂 Everything was really natural since they’re both so in love IRL.

First off, I’d really like to point out that I loved Erica’s make-up in this shoot. Having a true make-up artist come and take over was really something new for me. It made me realize I’m such a noob with make-up! And that it’s really different when the pros share their magic and collaborate with you.

I mean look at that! The precision, the skillz. The real deal.
Oh and Marion didn’t do much with Ed. I think he just straightened his hair and put light foundation.

He and Erica already worked together before this shoot so all went smoothly.

Erica bought her rose top when she went on a vacation to Bangkok (ah, ultimate shopping place indeed) and had someone make that rose choker to match her outfit. This shoot was planned since the summer but we only got to shoot around early this month.

Mark’s dog, Trevor, loved putting things in his mouth. We caught him chewing on Mark’s slippers so I immediately got the idea of letting him hold Erica’s roses!

Talking about the concept. This was originally Erica’s concept as she was inspired by the discovery of that rose top. When she got back from her vacation she texted me for a shoot and talked about roses and stripes (yes, of course it was still vague for me at that time). So okay, as the days went on I started thinking about it while doing usual mundane tasks, and ideas would just suddenly pop out.. *this is how my creativity flows* Before I’d sleep ideas would come again… And thus concepts and little details would keep changing as time goes by.

Ed’s hands were guided by Mark’s since Ed didn’t actually know how to play.

Working with Erica is seamless as she is already very skilled in posing and putting out the right facial expressions.

Therefore I think my concepts are greatly relative to time frames… Somehow I never can make them objectively, or at least have never successfully tried to.

But the wardrobe and Ed’s styling was all done by Erica herself. Not only is she good at modeling, she also has an arsenal of good ideas when working with concept shoots.

Another great help here is John’s being a social butterfly (lol am I using the term right?). He has lots of friends who have cool houses and Mark’s was one of them. I was able to first utilize the place during John’s lingerie shoot (which is only available at my FB to selected people 20 years old and above) and then here, now with my concept. I invited Lea, Kuya Johan who in turn brought Marion, and Mara to shoot too but Mara was busy so she’s M.I.A here. Lea brought Paolo too by the way. Nice tidbit for the Lea-Pao fans. :))

The most notable aspects of the party room were the wallpaper and the blank frame.

The black markings on the wallpaper are my idea of discreet burned wings. Random stuff.

As you can see, Ed patiently waits on the sideline. It was amazing that he had no complaints about anything. Let him wear this or do that, whatnot, he had no qualms.

So no wonder it’s no surprise to know that he’s always the proud supportive boyfriend who’s always there when Erica has shoots or fashion shows! Aweeee

Oh and to prove Cebu’s really small, Ed and I are actually next-door neighbors! I used to go to his house a lot when I was little to play with his youngest sister. Looking back, who would’ve thought I’d become a photographer and shoot him and his future girlfriend ey? Life, amazing.

If you guys have been following Gillian Uang, you’d know I’ll be one of the five photographers for her big batch 5 concept shoot for By Details. I’ll be shooting at my high school classmate’s house again this Tuesday. I’m sooo excited for reasons that I will not reveal yet. =D heehee.

So busy, busy, busy.

Til then, I’ll be busy doing a few set extensions for the movie that’s gonna be shown for our acquaintance party. It’s a sci-fi one where it involves two survivors battling aliens in our own USC TC campus.

I’m probably gonna blog about it so geeks prepare! It was really cool watching my classmates edit the video. They’re pro with After Effects and Particle Illusion. Ah, if I had time I’d self-teach myself really.. So awesome CG is. *.*
