Early in the summer Viverly asked me if I could shoot for her sister’s engagement. I politely said no because I’m really not interested in events photography (and taking into account I get physically weak easily). Just not built for the hustle and bustle that comes with the responsibility of events photography (i.e., weddings, debuts, parties, and the likes).

Although I have to admit that I have tried doing a small debut (as a favor to a friend) and now this post-engagement (still as a favor to another friend). I realized I have a tendency to really choose my photoshoots/photo ops when possible because I only want to do it within my creative freedom, not just for the money or whatnot.

Anyway, I eventually said I could do a post-engagement shoot.

For this shoot, John Borga was the lighting master once again. He’s teaching me the glories of strobing. I’m beginning to enjoy this whole new area of photography. The possibilities!

Another noteworthy thing to remember about the day of this shoot was that it was one of the hottest days ever in Cebu!! I’m not one to complain before, but now I always find myself doing so. I can literally see heat waves all the time when the sun shows up. Good thing the weather now is much more bearable as the rainy season comes.
