About
Anne Lorraine Uy
is a twenty-something visual artist who is drawn to the beauty and passionate process of creating art through the vision of lenses. Inspired by dreams, music, books, sights, nature and memories; she aims to go where Life takes her and experience what He has in store.
Picking up her first DSLR at the age of 18, she started her own photographic journey by the creation of short conceptual photoshoots she intimately called “photostories”, which became a collection of her thoughts and imagination showing the development of her artistry and photographic skill. She did all the work early on–being a stylist, makeup artist, creative director, coordinator, financier and whatever else needed. She just wanted to keep creating, keep shooting.
Since then, her photos have been spread on newspapers, magazines and the Internet artist community.
She joined the Cebu Digital Photographers club back in 2009 and grew much with the help of other elder professional photographers. A year after, she flew to the capital city of Manila to shoot her first magazine editorial for Summit Media’s TotalGirl magazine and won the 2010 online national photo contest ImagenIT sponsored by COMDDAP. In the early part of 2011, she became part of the international artists featured in The Nonsense Society. A few editorials after, she shot her first Cover for Zee Lifestyle’s February 2012 issue.
It is better to have tried hard and fail, than to never have tried at all and regret. A lot of people have found success after learning from countless failures, but nobody has ever been happy with regret.
